Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Eteranova: Journal of Engineering and Technological Innovation is committed to upholding academic integrity and the originality of all published works. Therefore, every manuscript submitted will undergo a plagiarism screening before entering the peer review process.
Procedure:
-
Plagiarism Detection Tool:
Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or equivalent tools. -
Acceptable Similarity Threshold:
The maximum acceptable overall similarity index is 20%, with no single source exceeding 5%, excluding properly cited quotations and references. -
Actions Against Plagiarism:
-
In cases of minor plagiarism (similarity >20% but correctable), the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.
-
In cases of major plagiarism (e.g., verbatim copying or data manipulation), the manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the authors may be banned from future submissions.
-
-
Self-plagiarism:
Authors may not reuse significant portions of their own previously published work without proper citation and substantial modification.
